Capoeira Brazilian Pelourinho was founded by Mestre Lazaro da Bahia in 1995.  He was born in Bahia, Brazil and has developed a unique style of teaching forged through his experience and dedication to the art of Capoeira.  As many Capoeristas in Bahia, Mestre Lazaro started his training at an early age.  His Mestre was Mestre Dinho of Grupo Internacional de Capoeira Topazio who taught him very well.  He persevered and eventually graduated as a Master of Capoeira.  He then found himself experiencing world travel which allowed him to demonstrate Capoeira to a larger audience.  Today, Lazaro is a well-known Mestre in the state of Florida. Mestre Lazaro finds great pleasure in teaching Capoeira and giving back to the community in any way he can.

Mestre Dinho Raimundo dos Santos, Born May 15 1957 in Salvador, Bahia. Began his training at the age of fourteen. His Mestres were Fiinho and No. Mestre Dinho started teaching Capoeira in 1980 when he founded Grupo Internacional de Capoeira Topazio. Every year since 1983, he has traveled to his affiliated academies for graduations and workshops around the world.
